Kathleen Virginia Wilkinson

Kathleen Virginia (Kay) Wilkinson, 89, passed away August 12, 2009 in Libby, MT. The daughter of E. O. and Mary Evelyn (Heath) Johnson, Kay was born January 14, 1920. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1938, and married Gene R. Wilkinson of Bremerton on August 24, 1943. Kay was a homemaker, as well as owner and operator of Holly Beach Resort Partners for 20 years. She was a member of the Harrison Hospital Auxiliary and the Elks BPOE in Libby, MT. Additionally, Kay was a class member of the initial first grade class at Our Lady Star of the Sea School when it opened. She was also a lifetime member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish. Kay enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends in Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Stan E. Johnson and Robert S. Johnson. She is survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, Gene; daughters Kathi Smith (Roger) of Seabeck, Toni Wilkinson of Troy, MT, and Teresa Wilkinson of Bremerton; six grandchildren, Melissa Wietz, Bryan Smith, Cam Murdock, Wolfgang Mundt, Jen Mundt, and Erin Reynolds; 10 great-grandchildren; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, 1513 6th Ave, Bremerton, WA 98337, followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery and a reception at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 5303 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, WA 98312.
