Kathryn Abbott Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 17, 2026.
Kathryn D. Abbott, 78, of Pembroke passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, surrounded by her family at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born on September 29, 1947, in Elkins, WV, the first of four children to Marshall C. and Doris M. (Lewis) Arnold. Kathy, as she was known to friends, and Diane, as she was known by her family, graduated from Brighton High School in Brighton, MA, in 1965. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, she was employed at Clark and White Motors in Allston, MA, working in the accounting department while also covering duties as a receptionist. In 1969, she married and soon thereafter welcomed her three beloved children.

In the 1980s, she moved her family to Litchfield, NH, and worked for a short time as a waitress at China Village in Hudson. She later purchased her first home in Londonderry and began working at Parkland Medical Center, where she retired as an assistant dietary technician after 26 years of loyal service.

Kathy could often be found in the kitchen baking and cooking. She was well known for her whoopie pies and her ham and cheese noodle dinner. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching General Hospital, Walker, Texas Ranger, and game shows. She was also a big fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Kathy enjoyed crafting, completing crossword puzzles, and decorating for Christmas, which was her favorite time of year. Her love for Elvis Presley and his music will resonate with our family forever. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and there was nothing she wouldn't do for them.

She is survived by her children, Kim Cote and her husband, Sean, of Weare, NH; Scott Abbott and his wife, Michele Robitaille, of Manchester, NH; and Jason Abbott and his wife, Karolyn Seeger, of Pembroke, NH. She is also survived by her siblings, Deborah Sereda and her husband, Richie, of Mansfield, MA; Larry Arnold and his wife, Donna Steely-Arnold, of West Bridgewater, MA; and Jeffrey Arnold and his wife, Patricia, of Haines City, FL; her five grandchildren, Lauren Lachance, Mackenzie Seeger, Julie Abbott, Zoey Maunsell, and Joseph Seeger; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her smile and kindness will be missed by all. Heaven has surely gained an angel.
