Kathryn Burch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch Funeral Service - Greenville on Feb. 18, 2026.
Kathryn "Kathy" Burch, 85, of Terrell, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026. She was born on November 6, 1940, in Quitman, Texas, to Jack Cecil Bond and Hallie (Marable) Bond, who preceded her in death.

Kathy lived a life marked by independence, loyalty, and fierce love for her family. She was a woman who stood strong in who she was - confident, capable, and compassionate. While she valued her independence, her heart always belonged to the people she loved. Family was her greatest joy and highest priority. She loved not only her own children and grandchildren, but welcomed others' children as if they were her own, offering warmth, protection, and encouragement to all who crossed her path.

For 36 devoted years, she shared her life with her beloved husband, Michael "Tex" Lee Burch. Together they built a life full of memories, laughter, and steadfast partnership.

Kathy had a remarkable gift with animals - a true animal whisperer. She loved every kind of creature and found happiness in caring for pets of all kinds throughout her life. Animals seemed to sense her gentle spirit and were naturally drawn to her kindness. Her love for animals was matched only by her adventurous side - she even rode motorcycles and was an accomplished barrel racer, embracing the open road with the same bold spirit that defined her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael "Tex" Lee Burch; her sons, Roger Dale Scott and Robert Charles Johnson, Jr.; and her cherished grandchildren: Ben Myrdhal and Donna, Andrew "Drew" Johnson, Robert Charles Johnson III, Jordan Scott, Taylor Scott, Tori Shearin, and Tanner Scott.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Derek Myrdhal, Raelee Johnson, and Jayden Scott.

She is also survived by her cousins Donny Gothard and Barbara and their family, Debbie Hefley and her family.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her cousins, Jimmy Gothard and Eddie Gothard.

She will be remembered as a fiercely loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and friend - loyal to the core, protective of those she loved, and generous beyond measure. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion leave an imprint that will live on in every life she touched.

Though she has left this world, the love she gave so freely remains. Her family finds comfort knowing that her spirit - bold, loving, and compassionate - will never fade.

Forever loved. Forever missed.
