What a beautiful person we have lost! Kathy was bright, intelligent, honorable, and quite capable helping and supporting those she touched. She will be sorely missed!

So sorry to hear of your loss. Cathy was one of my mentors when I was a reading specialist at Woodland Elementary. Her wit and forthrightness was unbelievable. She was never shy and always called a spade a spade. I always loved her comments about the young teachers who did not wear "sensible shoes". Her political views were well ahead of her times. I will miss her charm and witt. May her memory be for a blessing.

Kathy Clay and I worked together as Reading Specialists at Woodland Intermediate School. We were also leaders of Woodland´s Teachers Union together. With her insistence that the union officers vote on who should lead our first teacher´s strike in 1985, I was elected to lead the negotiations and the strike. I depended on Kathy´s advice often as the union´s trustee and two term president. There will never be another Kathy Clay. She will be missed by all that knew her.
