Kathryn Dickey Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 5, 2025.
Kathryn "Kathy" Ann Dickey passed away on October 19, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life was filled with love, laughter, and a quiet strength.

Born in Detroit, MI, to Allie Rae Cates and William Scogsburg, she was later adopted and raised by Ed Smith. She grew up in Watson, AR, and shared her childhood with her sister, Teresa Parsons. Kathy married Milton Ellison Dickey on December 31, 1987, and together they built a life rooted in love and resilience.

She was the proud mother of Alicia Kathryn Gaston, Rachel Marie Conner, and lovingly embraced Kimberly Diane Goforth as her own. Her grandchildren - Cade Matthew Sartain, Anneliese Marie Conner, Ashlyn Brooke Sartain, Stone Robert Gaston, and Roland Andrew Conner - were her greatest joy.

Kathy first worked in insurance, then brought her talents to Snyder Home Builders as an administrative assistant. She eventually became a stay-at-home mom, a role she embraced with love and devotion. She loved gardening, reading, organizing, and relaxing on her back porch swing. She had a playful spirit and a deep love for music - especially The Beatles, The Eagles, Queen, John Prine, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. She enjoyed watching true crime shows and mysteries like CSI. She was also a passionate Formula One racing fan and loved watching Survivor with her husband.

Kathy's warmth, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered. To help without question was simply her nature - a legacy of generosity that lives on in every life she touched.
