Kathryn “Little Granny” Grider, age 95, of Caddo Gap, passed away on October 3, 2023.
She was born on May 17, 1928, in Bloomington, Indiana, the daughter of Clarence Edward Wicker and Roxie Ann May Wicker. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her two sons, Jeffery Barrick and Edward Wicker.
Kathryn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Amity. She was most known for her cooking, always giving a plate to everyone that visited her and told them to “take this home with you.” Kathryn planted a lot of seeds with her children and worked hard to watch them grow. Kathryn will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Sam Mobley in Indianapolis, Indiana, Bob and Maria Mobley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Steve and Chris Grider of Amity; her three daughters, Cathy Hardage of Caddo Gap, Rhea Perry of Arkadelphia, and Retha Aubrey of Arkadelphia, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John McAnally officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to services on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Brandy Cooper, Mellisa Randolph, Stevie Grider, Robert Mobley, Jr., Cohen Grider, and David Grider
Interment will be held at Jones Cemetery.
