Kathryn was a member of Jordan UCC, Allentown and was a member of the former Emmanuel United Church of Christ for nearly 60 years, where she served as a deacon and was a member of the Bible Class. She sang on the Choir for more than 63 years, even before she joined the church.
She was a member of Travelers Protective Association, A Life Member of the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans), a member of Franklin Park Senior Citizens and a Board Member of West Park Civic Association. She volunteered at Mayfair for 11 years.
Kathryn supported her husband Woody Guth and Troop #14 in all his Boy Scout endeavors, attending National Boy Scout Reservation Philmont in Cimarron, New Mexico several times.
She was an avid reader.
Survivors: Son: E. Dale Layos (Patricia) of New Tripoli; Granddaughters: Alexandra Layos Ortega (Quentin) and Katina Layos Anderson (John), both of Missouri. Kathryn is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Mary Pawlesa Drofitz, Rosalie Pawlesa, Anna Pawlesa and by brothers Michael Pawlesa Bolesky and Peter Pawlesa.
Services: 10:30 am Saturday, April 11, 2026, Jordan UCC, 1837 Church Rd, Allentown, PA 18104. There will be a visitation from 10:00 – 10:30 am Saturday (4/11/2026) in the church. Arrangements by Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home, P.C. Please leave online condolences at www.heintzelmanstephens.com
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathryn's name may be made to Jordan UCC.
