Kathryn Brewer Kimble passed away peacefully at her home in Salt Lake City on March 4, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born in Ogden, Utah, on September 20, 1946, Kathi was the youngest of six children born to George Stanley and Emily Wallentine Brewer. She graduated magna cum laude and worked as a teacher, a role that reflected her innate desire to help others grow.
Alongside her husband, Thomas Glenn Kimble, Kathi raised six children with organization, dedication, and grace. She was the stabilizing force of a home that served as a hub for family and friendsand the place where she was most beloved as "Grams" to her eleven adoring grandchildren. Whether she was hosting large family reunions, neighborhood swim parties, or small hangouts for her children's friends, Kathi fostered connection. She intentionally created a peaceful, safe, and comfortable space where relationships were nurtured and maintained, a gift that made her home the heart of her community.
Kathi used her bright and capable mind in many leadership and teaching roles within her family, church, and community. As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in numerous callings, including the Primary and Young Women organizations. In every capacity, she exemplified what it meant to go above and beyond.
Kathi possessed a rare and remarkable gift for listening without judgment or a rush to comment or interject. This patience made her a safe harbor for family and friends alike. Nowhere was this more evident than in the relationships she shared with her six children. It was truly exceptional that each of them would often talk with her one-on-one for hours at a time. She had a capacity to make each child feel like the center of her world, providing the wisdom and encouragement that shaped their lives.
She is survived by her children, Natalie, Curtis (Anne), JoAnna (David), and Eric (Tiffany); her brother, Douglas George Brewer; and eleven grandchildren who were the lights of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her son, Jefferson; and her daughter, Suzanne.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on Friday, March 13, at 1:00 PM at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park chapel in Salt Lake City, Utah.
