Kathryn Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home - Tomah on Mar. 31, 2026.
Kathryn June "Kat" Miller, 81, of Elroy, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

Kat was born in Green County, Wisconsin, to Anna and Lyle Miller, both of whom preceded her in death. She spent much of her life rooted in hard work and community, beginning as a dairy farmer and later working at Walmart. No matter where she was, Kat brought her signature spirit with her-she was known for being sassy, fun, and incredibly sweet, with a memorable giggle that those who loved her will never forget.

On June 27, 1964, she married Wayne Bolden, with whom she raised three children: Jeffrey, Tammy, and Lucas. Though they later divorced in 1985, they shared many years of family and memories. Kat later married Douglas Bell and divorced in 2000. Wayne and Douglas preceded her in death.

Kat found her greatest joy in the simple, meaningful things-stamping, crafting, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.

She is survived by her children Tammy (Darrell) Becker and Lucas (Lindsey) Bolden; her siblings Jack Miller, Margaret Larson, Linda Jensen, Donna (Dave) Benson, and Melody (Dale) Woodliff; her grandchildren Jessica Nelson, Jeffrey Nelson, Brooke (Mike) McCracken, Dillion Becker, Braelyn Bolden, and Tucker Bolden; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Jeffrey Bolden; her brothers Lyle "Buck" Miller and Charles "Chuck" Miller; and her brothers-in-law Dale "Butch" Jensen, and Fred Von Haden.

Kat will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, and the way she made people feel-welcomed, loved, and just a little bit lighter after being around her.

Private family services will be held. The Sonnenburg-Smith-Nelson Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be offered by visiting www.sonnenburgfamilyfh.com.
