Kathryn Marie "Kathe" Quartier

Kathryn "Kathe" Marie (Zeglen) Quartier, 63, of Westville, formerly of Farmington, IL, passed away at 3:42 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. She was born in Canton, IL on June 23, 1960 to Adolph Zeglen Jr. and Eleanor (Eveland) Zeglen.
She is survived by her father; two sons, Christopher (Amber) Quartier of Berthoud, CO and Bryce (Jenna) Quartier of Washington, IL; four grandchildren, Charlize, Remi, Dylan, and Hattie; former husband, Scott Quartier; one brother, Daniel Zeglen; two nieces, Nicole (Nathan) Jones of Farmington, IL, Melissa (Adrian) Lopez of Laramie, WY, and one nephew, Austin (Brianna Caldwell) Zeglen of Green River, WY; one grand-niece, Maya; and two grand-nephews, Grant and Blake.
She is preceded in death by her mother and one brother, Jonathan Zeglen.
Kathe was a 1978 graduate of Farmington East High School and a 1982 graduate of the OSF Radiology Technologist Program. Following her education she began her career at St. Elizabeth's Hospital (later known as United Samaritans following a merger) of Danville, IL and helped to develop the CT department. She later helped to develop the MRI department at United Samaritans. Kathe spent approximately 16 years in her field and was described as a smart and dedicated technologist.
While raising her boys she served as a Board of Education member in Westville. She was also a member of Westville Music Parents, serving as president of the group for several years. She was instrumental in obtaining new band uniforms.
Kathe greatly valued time spent with her family and friends near and far. She looked forward to time outdoors gardening each spring and summer. Traveling whenever possible, she considered Maui HI to be her happy place, cherishing the time she spent there. Her most-loved role in recent years was being "Grandma Kiki" to her four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM the same day. Rev. Kevin Van Tine will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded with Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
