Kathryn Seery Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes - Groveland Chapel on Mar. 27, 2023.
Kathryn Mary Seery, age 90 of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2023. She was born in Chicago, IL.
Kathryn was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Thomas F Seery. She is survived by her brother Robert Webb, daughter, Debra Chapman, and husband, Patrick Chapman; daughter, Claudia Hanson, and husband, Gary Hanson; son, Thomas J. Seery, and wife Lori Seery; granddaughter, Angela Bunting: grandson, William Hanson; grandson, Jesse Hanson; grandson, Michael Seery and his wife, Lauren; grandson, Thomas John Seery, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Amelia Bunting; great granddaughter Kaleigh Seery, many nieces and nephews; loved ones; and friends.
Kathryn had three children in Chicago and with a great opportunity with her husband's work, moved her family to Largo Florida in 1962. Kathryn settled in as a full time homemaker. School with the kids, neighborhood events, birthday parties and driving all over town for numerous entertainment trips. Kay was always ready and available to help with last minute emergency pickups or drop-offs.
Kay had a weekly routine when the kids were in school. She maintained an impeccable clean house. She loved to work outside in the flowerbeds and landscaping. She always wanted to present a flawless home inside and out.
After all the kids were out of school she decided to move into the workforce. She took a job at a hospital as an assistant to a group of doctors at a local hospital.
Kay loved to travel. With the kids out of the house she and Tom began to travel. They traveled to many overseas destinations. Cruising was another option as well with many trips to the islands.
They purchased an RV and began to travel around the country with numerous destinations out of the west including Canada.
One of Kay's favorite things to do was hotel hop. Kay loved to check out hotels in the areas they were traveling for a possible stay in the future. They would go and sit in the lobby, order some wine, and take it all in as guests wandered in and out. They checked out pool areas and eating places and even asked to see an empty room to make sure it met her standards for excellence.
After a move to a small town two counties north they made many friends and were welcomed in the "New York Club" with open arms. Even though they were from Chicago the club loved Kay and being from the "Big City" they made an exception just for her.
Kay was a member of several Catholic churches. Kay was a gift bearer and Holy Eucharistic minister for the home bound. She would travel to the homes of folks who were unable to get to church and administer holy communion to them.
Kay was the textbook definition of a homemaker as so many mothers were of her time. These are just a few of the big points of her life. There are so many other things that could be mentioned but those things are reserved for her children's memory to carry with them and pass on to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
From all of us left behind, we thank you for a job very well done. You have earned enormous respect and adoration from every person who knew you.
Now you have traveled home to be with Tom and will be together with God for all eternity.
