Kathryn Vera Andry Chastang

Kathryn Vera Chastang was born October 3, 1935, to Randolph and Alice Andry in Chastang, Alabama. She was the first child born to their union.
Kathryn was united in Holy Matrimony with her childhood sweetheart Leo Chastang on January 3, 1956. They made their home in Inkster, Michigan where they raised two children, Cheryl and Brian.
Kathryn was a caring and nurturing person who doted on her children. grandchildren, as well as her extended family and friends. She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Inkster, MI and later transitioned to practice her faith at St Mary Catholic Church in Wayne, MI. She had careers in health care at the University of Michigan Hospital, as a pre-school teacher, and a businesswoman, working alongside her husband and partner Leo, managing their construction company and real estate interests. She was also an avid bowler, who took the sport seriously, bowling in several leagues weekly, and participating in tournaments across the state of Michigan.
Kathryn made her transition to eternal rest on the evening of November 5, 2025. Her daughter Cheryl was at her side holding hands as they often did.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents Randolph and Alice Andry, son Brian Andre Chastang, her beloved husband of 65 years Leo, sister Augustine Andry Huff, and brother Paul (Helen) Andry. She leaves to celebrate her life, daughter Cheryl Cabbil and son-in-law Gregory Cabbil of Knoxville, TN, grandson Matthew Cabbil of Aiken, SC and granddaughter Briana Cabbil of Roswell, GA. As well as her brother Anthony (Fannie) Andry of Detroit, Mi, sisters Evelyn Andry and Carolyn Brownlee of Mt Vernon, AL, sister-in-law, Delores Chastang Smith, Wayne, MI, brothers-in-law Anthony (Iris) Chastang of New Boston, MI, Wayne (Sheryl) Chastang of Mt Vernon, AL, and many loving nephews, nieces, friends, neighbors and church family members.
