Kathy Braswell Obituary
Kathy Joy Greene Braswell, 69, of Nebo, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
Kathy was born in Mitchell County on July 31, 1954 to the late Archie Greene and Mary Gouge Greene. Penny Coleman, Kathy’s sister, also preceded her in death.
Kathy was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Kathy was a fifty-year survivor of Lupus. She was a loving wife, sister and aunt who will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Braswell; her siblings, Amanda Shelton (JC), Martha Thomas (David), Rose Chadwick (Bob) and David Greene (Karen), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Glenwood Baptist Church on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Ryan Bennett and Dr. Dennis Love officiating. The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in Bakersville.
