Kathy J. Hammelev, 73, of Bristol, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
She was born on July 15, 1952, in Oshkosh, WI, to Herman and Elva (Day) Puckett. Kathy grew up with a caring heart that stayed with her throughout her life.
On October 25, 1975, Kathy married the love of her life, Jeffrey Hammelev, in Kenosha, WI. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, a milestone that reflected a lifetime of love, partnership, and shared memories.
Kathy spent many years working in home health care, where she found true joy in caring for her elderly patients. Helping others was at the center of who she was. She also loved gardening, being outdoors, and especially cherished her time up north at the Blue House in the Woods, where she found peace and happiness.
Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Jeffrey, along with nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends who will miss her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sister, Patricia Young.
