Waynesville, Kathy Kirkpatrick Fugate Jaynes, age 60, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Tommie Kirkpatrick and the late Hazel Duckett Kirkpatrick. Kathy was a receiving clerk at Haywood Regional Medical Center for 15 years and a member of New Beginnings Church. She is survived by her husband of seven years, Mike Jaynes; four children, Cyndi Noland of Maggie Valley, Larry Fugate and his wife, Cindy, of Waynesville, Cathy Jo Carson and her husband, Paul, of Canton, and Mary Beth Akers and her husband, Steve, of Waynesville; two stepchildren, Michael and Anyssa Jaynes; sisters, Charlotte Rhymer of Clyde, and Carolyn Bishop and her husband, Grover, of Cullowhee; ten grandchildren, Kendra and Kelby Noland, Taylor, Hannah, and Paige Fugate, Tristan and Cayden Carson, Cassidie, Chloe and Emma Akers; two step grandsons, Keefer Owens and Gabriel Conard; four nieces and nephews, Becky Clinton, Christy Pace, Andrew Hollingsworth, and Terri Clark; and five great nieces and nephews, Lily, Brantley and Matthew Clinton, Thomas Hollingsworth, and Elly Hamilin; Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Moore and Reverend Chan Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716.
