A Fellow Veteran´s Historian

June 28, 2025

After Kathy´s passing, I learned that she received a formal letter from the Department of the Army recognizing her husband, SP4 John L. Klimek, for outstanding work with the 581st Maintenance Company in 1973. He was honored for keeping the Army´s transportation units mission-ready, a role he performed with distinction.

Kathy carried that memory quietly, and it deserves to be remembered with pride.
He was commended for his technical excellence and professionalism while serving at Fort Meade in May 1973...

"A fellow veteran´s historian In memory and gratitude from the Fort Dix Legacy Circle.
May both their stories find light and honor that never fades."

I worked with Kathy at Chrysler First. She was a very nice person and I'm very sorry to hear of her passing. Prayers to her family.

Kathy was my neighbor when I first moved to Catasauqua when I was a little girl and I remember she was a wonderful person and a great friend to my mother an I. John and Kathy's initials are still engraved in the cement out of the basement of their old house in Catty, serving as a reminder of the love they had for each other.. solid as stone and will never wear away. I am very sorry for the loss of such a beautiful person.
