Kathy Maria Kurtz, 59, of Morgantown, passed away Friday morning, July 18th, 2025 at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Born October 30, 1965 in Homestead, PA, Kathy was a daughter of the late John Wayne Huffman and the late Mae Kathern Ketterman Huffman.
Survivors include her children, Katherine Morel and William Claude Morel, III with whom she made her home; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and one she eagerly anticipated the birth of; a brother, David James Huffman of Cheat Lake; her niece, Meloney Pritt of Sabraton; her companion, Jerry Taylor of Granville; and her faithful canine companion, Amy who misses her very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Keith and Marshall Huffman, and Carla Major.
Kathy was a CNA for more than 20 years, recently having started a position with Harmony of Morgantown in the same capacity. She had a huge heart for the elderly and animals. She enjoyed fishing, gambling, and spending time with her family.
Kathy was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Private services will be held for immediate family, followed by cremation and inurnment at a later date at the Gladesville Cemetery.
