Kathy Louise Logan, 83, of Pampa, passed away on September 28, 2025, in Pampa with her family by her side.
Celebration of life services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with her son, Greg Logan, officiating. An entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
Kathy was born on September 27, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas to David and Margaret Ballantyne. She grew up and later graduated high school from Ward High School in Kansas City, Missouri. While in Kansas City she later met and married Jim Logan, Sr., on May 13, 1961. They resided in Kansas City for twenty more years until they moved to Pampa for Jim to work at Phillips Petroleum in Borger. Jim would precede her in death in 2015 after 54 years of marriage.
Kathy worked in Law Enforcement with the records department for the Pampa Police Department for 15 years. She was also a civically active woman as well and she donated some of her time and resources at the Tralee Crisis Center. Kathy was a life-long catholic and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She liked painting, ceramics, cross stitching, and reading, but what she really loved doing was traveling to Las Vegas to play slots whenever she could. Kathy was a quiet woman, but she was witty and fun but could be straightforward when she needed to be. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; father-in-law, John Logan, Sr.; and brother-in-law, John Logan, Jr.
Kathy is survived by three sons, Jim Logan, Jr. and wife Jo of Pampa, David Logan and wife Robin of Kansas City, MO, and Greg Logan and wife Renita of Pampa; grandchildren, Heather Brantley and husband Kevin, Abbie Scott, William Logan, and Robin Logan, all of Pampa, Tiffany Ballew, Samantha Logan, Dylan Logan, Kelsey Klipsch and husband Jonathan, all of Kansas City, MO; great-grandchildren, Kharee, Arayah, and Sophia; three sisters, Margie Madden and husband Jim of Wichita, Kansas, Jan Seay and husband Bob, and Sandy Ballentyne, all of Owasso, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Jerry Logan of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters-in-law, Joyce Logan and husband Steve of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Chris Logan of Evergreen, Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
The family would like to extend gratitude to the Interim Home Health and Hospice and to Stan Lefew and staff for their many years of care for Kathy.
