Kathy Jean Medlin, passed away on November 9, 2025, in Riverside, Ohio, at the age of 76. Born on October 22, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, Kathy was a beloved daughter to Willard and Della Simpson, who preceded her in death.
Kathy dedicated many years of her life as a Secretary at Viki Lynn's School of Dance in Riverside, where her involvement and hard work left a lasting impact on those she worked with. A proud graduate of Beavercreek High School, she was known for her honest and straightforward personality; Kathy was someone who always spoke her mind and stood strong in her convictions.
Family was at the heart of Kathy's life. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dale Medlin, with whom she shared 56 years with. As a loving mom, Kathy took great pride in her daughter, Lori (Joe) Eagle and her late son, Bob Medlin. Her role as a grandma brought her immense joy as she adored her grandchildren: Keri (Devon) Fisher, Kyle (Ilana Stewart) Eagle, and Kelsy Eagle. She was also a proud great-grandma to Carter. Kathy’s strong will and devotion to her family meant that she was always present at their events. Whether supporting and cheering them on through the many stages of their lives, no matter if it was a dance recital or sporting event.
Kathy had a strong spirit that shone through her hobbies and interests. Whether it was reading, playing games, shopping, going out to eat or the movies, she cherished every moment spent with her family. She felt family vacations were important and created additional beautiful memories, reinforcing the importance of togetherness that she so deeply valued.
She is also survived by her brother, Bill (Jill) Simpson, who shared in the many memories of their upbringing and family gatherings; as well as many other loving family and friends.
Kathy's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, with a Visitation from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM followed by the Celebration of Life beginning at 4:00 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio.
Kathy’s legacy of love, honesty, and dedication to family will be remembered by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
