Kathy Nash

Kathy Edmonds Nash, 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. Ms. Nash was born in Durham to the late Merle Lee Edmonds and Mae Elizabeth Edmonds (Tew). Ms. Nash grew up attending Calvary Baptist Church in Durham where she and her family were active members before moving away.

Ms. Nash worked at Liggett Group as a machine operator for almost 40 years, an occupation she was very proud of. Ms. Nash graduated from Southern High School in Durham, class of 1977, prior to beginning her career and having her daughter with the late Michael Wesley Nash.

Ms. Nash is survived by her only daughter, Michelle Nash; brothers, Butch Ribet, Buddy Edmonds, and Jerry Edmonds; as well as her loving partner, James Nichols.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. No services are planned currently.
