Kathy A. Oleshko, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Manteno, IL, on December 18, 2025, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on October 18, 1961, in Blue Island, IL, Kathy was a radiant light in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
Kathy lived each day with an unwavering love for her family. As the devoted wife of Matthew Oleshko, her partnership was filled with laughter, support, and deep mutual respect. She was a proud and loving mother to Michael (Allison) Oleshko, Samantha (EJ) Maynard, Thomas (Kim) Oleshko, Sarah (Dan) Ryan, and Skyler Alverson. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Avery, Emma, Memphis, Jack, Landon, Quinten, Wesley, Zeke, and Connor, who brought her immeasurable joy. The time they spent together was a treasure for all, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Kathy took delight in the simple pleasures of life. She was often found outdoors, soaking up the sun during the summer months, or indulging in her passion for baking and canning. She had a knack for crossword puzzles and trivia, showcasing her sharp wit and intelligence. Her laughter echoed through her home during the holiday season; Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she took immense pleasure in decorating, creating a festive atmosphere that reflected her joyful spirit. Her love for music, especially the soothing sounds of Elvis Presley, was another one of her cherished interests, providing a soundtrack to her life that brought comfort and happiness.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Matthew; her children; and her grandchildren, along with her beloved siblings, Francis (Sandy) Quint and Barbara (Craig) Panozzo. She was also a treasured sister-in-law to Joy Quint and Robert Church.
Kathy's legacy is one of fierce love and devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lola Quint; and her siblings, Jerry (Pat) Quint, Richard Quint, and Joann Church. Their memories live on through her family, who carry her spirit in their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathy's life during a visitation on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 3 to 8 p.m., with a funeral service at 6 p.m., at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, located at 291 N Main St, Manteno, IL 60950. Her warmth, kindness, and indomitable spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
