It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Kathleen Mary Schumacher, on December 8th, 2024. At the age of 80, with family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Kathy was born on January 20th, 1944 in Racine, Wisconsin to Roy and Lola Klug.
Kathy was a loving mother and grandmother, who was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. The highlight of her life was being a Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The joy and pleasure she received from them encouraged her in her fight with cancer. Kathy had a love of all different types of art. She especially enjoyed oil painting, interior design, traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She also loved to spend time with her high school girlfriends, and other life-long friends.
She is survived by her children; James Kissel Jr, Patti Kissel, Nancy (Robert) DeWane, Tracy (Steve) Arriola, and Michael (Sarah) Kissel, her grandchildren; Patrick (Hilary) DeWane, Katie (Ross) Farley, Ben Kissel, Steve Arriola, Madelyn Arriola, Wyatt Kissel, and Brynn Kissel, and her great grandchildren; Elizabeth, Gracelyn, Isabella, Adelynn, Sutton, and Sawyer. She is further survived by her siblings; Richard (Madeleine) Klug, and Maureen Bruegger, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother-in-law; Bob Bruegger.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay) with Memorial Service to follow at 12:00 pm. Private Inurnment will follow at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
A special thank you to Dr. Karkera, Allie, Ashley and the entire Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic team at Aurora, along with Unity Hospice. While our hearts mourn her loss, we take great comfort in knowing she was well cared for and is free of her suffering.
