Kathy Yvonne Strausbaugh, 76, of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Yorkview Nursing & Rehabilitation. She was the wife of Steven Strausbaugh to whom she had been married for 40 years.
Born February 7, 1950, in York, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy Miller and Vera O’Bryan.
Kathy was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School. She had a green thumb and could often be found tending to her plants and flowers. She was at her best in the summer months as she enjoyed the warmth of the sunshine, sitting on the porch listening to her wind chimes, and going for walks with Steve. She enjoyed many summers camping at Knoebel’s with the whole family.
Her faith guided her daily. Kathy saw the best in everyone and was extremely generous, trusting, kind, and helpful to all she met. She kept her mind busy with solitaire and daily puzzles on her phone. Her family and friends will miss her daily texts and gifs.
In addition to her husband, Kathy leaves behind her children, Jolynn Whitten (formerly Pearl), Matthew Strausbaugh, and Blaine Strausbaugh; grandchildren, Courtney Mace (formerly Strausbaugh), Clayton Strausbaugh, Camrynn “Cami” Miller (formerly Strausbaugh), and Kaden Strausbaugh; a brother, Charles “Chuckles” Miller; and her brother-in-law, Roy Nailor. Her favorite memories were of time spent with her children, grandkids, and great-grands as well. She was so proud of all of them.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Linda “Suzi” Nailor and Patrick O’Bryan; and her daughter, Cathy Strausbaugh.
Kathy loved her pets and all animals. Over the years, family pets included a couple of dogs, many cats, parakeets, lizards, and a fish. She leaves behind her feline companion, Bane, or as she affectionately called him “Nosy”.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.
