Kathy Marie West, age 76, of Glenwood, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025.
She was born on January 22, 1949, in Mountain Pine, Arkansas. Kathy was the daughter of Walter Lee Mitchell and Grace Augustus Welch Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her husband, Gale West; and her great-granddaughter, Mariah Grace.
Kathy was a Christian in her faith. She loved to garden, eating, cooking, and always had a cup of coffee in her hand. Kathy never met a stranger and loved to talk. Kathy had a hard work ethic. She worked many years at various employments in the Glenwood area, including the Glove Factory, Bean Lumber Company, Georgia Pacific, Repops, and Centerpoint Elementary. She was a loving mother, granny Kathy, and friend and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Elizabeth and Randy Penick of Texarkana, Roger West of Hot Springs, M'Charla and Russell Barrett of Kirby, and Jonathon West; her eight grandchildren, Johnathan, Rachell, Anthony, Myranda, Alysa, Nathaniel, Joey, and Kimberly; her thirteen great-grandchildren, River, Miles, Connor, Ethan, Caelan, Xander, Katie, Alex, Leland, Kaysen, Easton, Charlee, and Elaina ; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Glenwood Cemetery.
