Katie Johnson Obituary
Katie Jean Johnson, 70, of Science Hill, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the Jean Waddle Care Center.
She was born on September 24, 1955 to the late Marvin & Myrtle (Godbey) Roy in Science Hill, Kentucky. Katie had a deep love for the lake, where she found great joy and peace. She treasured the time spent on her houseboat, especially when surrounded by her family. Some of her happiest moments were fishing and swimming alongside her grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. Katie was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James Johnson; her son, Jayme & (Ashley) Dykes; grandchildren, Dreagan & Dylan Dykes; her sister, Kathy Hines; nieces & nephews, Tammie & (Bryan) Stringer, Pam & (John) Walden, and Trevor Roy; a step-son, Scott & (Charlene) Johnson; and step grandkids, Skyler Shortridge, Caitlynn Johnson, and Caleb Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Kimmie Roy.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Harney officiating.
Burial will be at Science Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time for services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form in donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
