Katrina Braun Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beddingfield Funeral Service - San Jose from Dec. 18 to Dec. 19, 2025.

Interment of Cremated Remains: Scatter in a redwood forest

Katrina Braun, age 24, left our world earlier this month. Born in 2001 in Palo Alto, CA, Katrina was a warm and affectionate person who fearlessly struggled with the challenges of gender and emotional connection. She searched for her place in life, which demanded an overwhelming level of physical and emotional strength to overcome both internal and external hostilities.

Katrina found joy in long hikes, playing saxophone, and sketching. With a brilliant, perfectionistic mind, she graduated with honors as an outstanding aerospace engineer from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with minors in computer science and electrical engineering. She then pursued a master's degree in electrical engineering, focusing on spaceflight control systems and serving as a graduate teaching assistant at CU Boulder. She loved spending time playing board games and D&D, and enjoyed hiking with her family and friends, listening to Jazz music, and reading manga.

Katrina is survived by her parents, younger brother, as well as uncles and aunt. She will be deeply remembered by her family and friends, as well as a community that felt her kind spirit.

After the celebration of life, her ashes will be scattered over a Redwood forest, her favorite place to hike.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to glaad.org, translifeline.org, or thetrevorproject.org.
