Katrina Lynn Bonin Miles was born in New Iberia, La., on March 18, 1973, and carried the warmth and spirit of her Cajun heritage throughout her life. She and her husband, Scott moved to Bridgman in 2002.
Until a few years ago, Katrina dedicated herself to helping others as a certified medical assistant, embodying a true vocation of compassion and care. Her ability to connect with patients and her genuine desire to ease their pain reflected her kindness. Every day, she touched lives, always wearing a smile and sharing an encouraging word.
Katrina embraced her culinary roots, becoming a celebrated cook in her community. Known for her delicious Cajun dishes, her specialty – red beans and rice – reflected her innate talent and generous spirit. Friends would gather around her table, drawn not only by the aromas wafting from her kitchen but also by the warmth with which she welcomed them. Cooking was an expression of love – a way for her to make those around her feel cherished and special.
Her passion did not stop at the culinary arts; Katrina was also an avid crafter, finding joy in creating beautiful items that could bring happiness to others. She also had a deep love for Dr. Pepper!
Above all, Katrina valued the time spent with her family. Her one true love was making people happy and her life was a beautiful reminder of the power of kindness.
Katrina is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Scott Miles; sons: Scott Miles II and Brennan Miles; grandson, Rowan Miles; mother and stepfather: JoAnn and Stan Davis; siblings: Lacey (Nate) Boudreaux, Rick (Holly) Bonin and Rachel (Roger) Roy and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Bonin.
Katrina was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.
