Mrs. Katsy Mullendore Whittenburg

I worked briefly as her private chef. I was just thinking of her. My condolences to the family. She had a sweet teaching spirit.

I worked at the family residence as security while working at the Houston Police Department. One Thanksgiving, Mrs. Mecum came out to the guard shack and insisted that I enjoy dinner with the family since I was away from mine. A truly class act of kindness I will never forget, even though over 35 years have passed. RIP.

I am one of the HPD officers that used to work at the River Oaks residence of Mrs Mecom. I remember her as a very beautiful, gracious and humble lady. In one word classy. She was always concerned with our (her security’s) welfare and treated us as friends.

What a beautiful, sweet, gracious Woman. I was blessed to have known her when I was a kid and growing up, I was always happy to see her when she would be at our family Nail Salon. Always so kind. She will always be remembered fondly. God Bless her precious family.

I also attended Gulf Park as a high school student and was a sophomore when Katsy came. She was such a beautiful girl inside and out and a friend to all. Know she will be missed. My prayers are with all the family. Sybil Watkins Sartain (class of 1956)

Katsy was a Dear Dear friend of our family. My parents Maxine and Emil Mesinger counted Kasy as a bright spot in thier lives. What grace and beauty she had as she walked into any setting. So sorry for her children's and extended family's loss

Katsy was a beautiful lady inside and out. She was a very special person as was Kathleen her Mother. Her family gave me memories I will cherish the rest of my life. I miss seeing and keeping in touch with all of you. Love to you all, you are In My Prayers.

My parents, MiMi and I have enjoyed our visits with Katsy, Jimmy and family members over the last year or so and will miss both of them. What a lovely lady who always wore a smile and had something nice to say every time you saw her. Beautiful inside and out, Katsy loved life and made the world a better place by being here. Katsy Kay as an OU freshman clearly stood out, driving a new red Ford convertible and sought after by most of the OU men of the day. One of my fraternity brothers was particularly smitten but could never get to first base. Not finding her "man" at OU she abdicated for UT where she met John Mecum Jr. and the rest is history. A true beauty.

A truly beautiful lovely and gracious lady.
