Kay Cardwell Adkisson, age 71, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 in San Antonio. Kay was born on October 11, 1942 in Lubbock, TX, to William and Fannie Cardwell. While in Lubbock, she was an active member of Second Baptist Church. Kay was a full time mom and then later worked as a nurse in Houston. She was preceded in death by, her parents. Kay is survived by her husband of 50 years, David L. Adkisson; daughter, Becky K. Porter and husband, Mike; sons, Michael L. Adkisson; and Mark D. Adkisson and wife, Stephanie; eight grandchildren; and sister, Kitty Allred and husband, Ken. GRAVESIDE SERVICE TUESDAY, JULY 22, 2014 11:00 A.M. HILL COUNTRY MEMORIAL GARDENS CEMETERY 11700 STATE HWY. 46 W. NEW BRAUNFELS, TX 78132 Pastor Barbara Galloway will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association 7400 Louis Pasteur Dr, San Antonio, TX 78229 or to the American Diabetes Association, 8918 Tesoro Dr, San Antonio, TX 78217.
