To the McCoy family, I send my deepest sympathies. Kay and I were friends for over 57 years. All of my memories are filled with laughter and amazement of her fearlessness. When we were teenagers, I wanted a bathrobe made from a blanket. She didn't hesitate. Put the blanket on the floor and cut out a robe that did not need any sewing. The robe was perfect. I also remember conversations where she shared her love and joy with her school kids. I remember her appearing at my home, after not seeing each other for several years. She came to make sure I was okay after I had had a very serious illness. After she affirmed that I was fine, we spent the afternoon catching up and laughing. The world is a much more joyful place because of Kay having been here. Peace of God be with all of us grieving her death.

I will always remember Kay's smiling face, even after a difficult day. You could not have wished for a better child advocate. While working with her I always appreciated the fact that she not only saw the big picture, but knew how to get there. You will be missed, Kay.
