Kay Kruse Holley, born on February 7, 1958, departed from this life on January 4, 2026. A beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, Kay's legacy is one of compassion, dedication, and joy.
Kay built a commendable career that showcased her commitment to serving others. Beginning as an assistant at Dr. Ackerman's dental office, she later transitioned to the Harrison County Courthouse, where she worked diligently in the tax office. However, her most fulfilling role came in special education, inspired by her profound love for children. She served as a special education assistant first with the city of Gulfport and subsequently with the Harrison County School District, where she dedicated her efforts until retirement.
Known for her heart of gold, Kay was a great listener, gifted with a contagious smile and the unwavering loyalty of a true friend. She formed meaningful connections, creating bonds that brought joy to those around her.
Kay was passionate about life beyond her career. She cherished being outdoors, often soaking up the sun or tending to her flower beds. Weekends were often spent by the river, indulging in fishing while creating cherished memories with her family and friends. Known for her love of dance and fun, Kay’s vibrant spirit drew people to her, and she embraced life with an enthusiasm that many admired. Her profound affection for animals was evident, especially in her bond with her furbaby, Toby, who will miss his devoted momma deeply.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Angela Holley Charles (Greg); son, Andrew Holley; grandchildren, Taylor Holley, Hayden White, Madison Charles, and Tryston Holley; brother, Fred Kruse (Tracy); sister-in-law, Jackie Holley Ladner (Randy); and many loving nieces and nephews including Trey Kruse (Kristina), Emily Corso (Trevor), Taryn (Mike) Guyton, Kaylyn (Steven) Holmes, Eric (Whitney) Valles, and Jean Valles (Denny) Wackett.
