Iona Kay McMillion, 82, of Fort Worth, formerly of Abilene, died Sunday, April 16, 2023, at her home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Clyde Cemetery with Pastor Jamey Calvery officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. A reception will follow the service at Shelby and Tanner Hanigans, 400 Hilltop St., Baird. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 105 Oak St., Clyde.
Kay was born December 5, 1940, in Comanche to Herbert Daniel and Dorothy (Vinson) Cloud. She attended Breckenridge High School. Kay accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a very early age. Her family was her most prized possession. She loved flowers and working in her yard and adding as many angels in her yard and inside her house that she could. She absolutely loved the color pink and all that loved her knew whatever they gave her needed to be pink. The family requests everyone wear pink to the service in Kay's honor.
Kay also lived in Salinas, California with her husband, Delbert Cheek, and this is where her four children were born. She later moved to Texas, making her home with her family in Abilene, where she was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Kay resided in Fort Worth at the time of her death and lived near her daughter and best friend, Lisa Renee.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Renee Mitchell and husband David; three sons, Gary D. Cheek and wife Jill, Brian Allen Cheek and wife Kay and Robert Clay Cheek and wife Kim; two brothers, Herbert Neal Cloud of Abilene and Randy Harold Duebler of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five grandsons, Gary (Cindy), Nekoda Spencer (Haley), Clay Nash (Ryan), Danny Cheek and Drake Caner; nine granddaughters, Katie Moss (Colt), Tiffany Hazard (Billy), Shelby Hanigan (Tanner), Kourtney Schopper (Adam), Megan Calvery (Jamey), Hannah Banales (Aaron), Rebecca Cheek, Emma Graham and Leanne Nash; 29 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Tommy Mac Duebler and a grandson, Braxton Caner.
