Kay Rose Osika

1937 - 2023

Kay Rose Osika, age 85, of Omaha passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2023. She is now in heaven rejoicing with the Lord. Kay was born on July 14, 1937 in Winona, Minnesota to her parents, Hubert Phillip Joswick and Rose Marie (Wieczorek) Joswick. She graduated from Cotter High School and College of Saint Teresa.
On March 26, 1966, she was married to Thomas William Osika. The couple had four children, Glenn, Sharon, Julie, and Adam. They raised their family in Omaha, Nebraska. Kay was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren.
Kay loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, mind, and strength. She lived her life in service to the Lord, teaching and serving others. She was a teaching leader in Bible Study Fellowship in Omaha from 1980-2005, touching the lives of 10,500 women. In addition, she shared the Lord and His Word with others through Bible studies at Christ Community Church, counseling and mentoring many women, and speaking at retreats and events. She said, "If others can be reminded of Jesus Christ when they remember my ministry to them, I will give all the praise and glory to God and He will be honored."
Preceding her in death are her parents, Hubert and Rose Joswick; brother, Robert Joswick; and sister, Carol Joswick Brown. Those left to treasure her memory include: her husband, Thomas Osika of Omaha, Nebraska; her four children: Glenn (Lisa) Osika of Blair, Nebraska; Sharon (Doug) Pugh of Franklin, Tennessee; Julie (Niel) Nielsen of Omaha, Nebraska; Adam Osika of Omaha, Nebraska.
Her nine grandchildren: Jordan Nielsen, Anna Pugh, Rachel Nielsen, Calvin Pugh, Margaret Pugh, Blair Osika, April Osika, Davis Osika, and Daniel Osika. Her brothers: Thomas (Kate) Joswick of Macomb, Illinois; Hugh (Abbe) Joswick of Berkeley, California; and many nieces and a nephew, cousins, and friends.
Memorials may be directed to Bible Study Fellowship International in Kay's honor.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 1, 2023, from 5-7PM at Christ Community Church, Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 10:30AM at Christ Community Church.
