Santa Cruz, California 55 years.Survived by 6 children, including 3 biological babies Scott Stewart, Suzi Stewart-Meyer,Randy Grimes, Daughter in law Araceli Grimes and Son in law Kurt Meyer, 5 Immediate grand Children, including Ivan Grimes, Kaylen Carilli, Alex Grimes, Chris Carilli, Annie Grimes, and 14 additional grand and great grandchildren.After raising 5 children, she graduated from UCSC with honors, and masters degree, in Anthropology and Co Founded the 'Thirdworld Resource Center1 Library at Merrill College. UCSCShe had an undying passion for travel. While traveling thru 3rd world counties, including Mexico and Guatemala, she spent her time helping to teach indigenous natives to read and write, and other basic needs to prosper. While in Acapulco, started attending an annual Day of the Kings Holiday 'El Dia de los Reyes', as it's called in Mexican tradition, in a small village. Carrying suitcases of toys to children who had very little. As her travels continued thru out the years, she visited over 161 counties. Loved by all people around the world. Her motto, 'I've never met a stranger, only a friend I haven't met yet'.In the 70's she Danced with Tandy Beals Dance Company, 'Modern Dance' which she excelled at, and exercise, fitness and healthy lifestyle played a key role in her very Fit and strong diligence to be the best she could be. A '24 hour Fitness' member since 1992, where she went 6 days a week.Right up to 10-23, where she made lifetime friends, an inspiration for her dedication. Always smiling and with her gone, everyone is missing her wonderful presence.Her Family was her life passion. Always came first. Not a day went by that she didn't reach out to her 'babies', and each one was her 'favorite'.Now she has moved on to heaven to join her beloved Husband, Ward Gilbert Grimes, daughter Deborah Lorraine Stewart, Son Scott Grimes, Mother, Father, and so many more.Lifes mission was to spread Love, Hope, and Kindness.Our world here will always be missing someone special. Wonderful Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, in all cases, Great Friend.She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a volunteer for Grey Bears.A Celebration of Nanette's Life will be on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11:00am, at Santa Cruz Memorial 1927 Ocean Street,
