Ladies and gentlemen, raise your crochet hooks in a salute to our beloved Kaye Ames, who after 86 years of loving, laughing, and occasional sass, hung up her Swarovski crystal collector's gloves for the last time on September 21, 2025. Born on August 25, 1939, in Tremonton, UT, she spent 60 glorious years in
Ogden, Utah, where she was known by her many adoring fans as Mom, Grandma, Great-grandma, Great-great-grandma, Nana and friend. She was a resilient soul who, after retiring from a successful career as an assembler at Pacific Chromolox in 2001, filled her golden years with a variety of hobbies that reflected her boundless creativity.
Kaye was a voracious reader with an eclectic palate, devouring the works of Stephen King, Ann Rice, and VC Andrews with the same enthusiasm she had for crocheting, jewelry making, painting, and gardening. She was as comfortable reeling in a hefty catch during a fishing trip as she was navigating the treacherous aisles of a shopping mall during a sale. Kaye was also a fervent member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary, and her compassion was evident in all she did. She was a steadfast member of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints.
Kaye leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a vast collection of Swarovski crystals. She is survived by her daughters Diana (Alex) Boney, Katharine (Joseph) Books, Laura Marsh, and Crystal Allred, fourteen Grandchildren, thirty Great Grandchildren, and two Great-Great grandchildren. She now joins her parents, Henry and Arvella Kay Morrison, three sisters, two brothers, three husbands, two grandsons, and one great grandson who preceded her in death.
A viewing will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:00am to 12:45 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd.,
Ogden, Utah. Following this, there will be a graveside service at Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd.,
Ogden, Utah at 2:00pm. Luncheon at the North Ogden 22nd ward, 900 E 2850 N, North
Ogden, UT will follow graveside service.
In true Kaye fashion, let's remember her with joy and laughter. Share your best Kaye stories, the sassier the better, and upload photos to her memorial page. After all, as Kaye would remind us, life is too short not to have a little fun along the way.
