Kayten Askimar Obituary

Kayten was a compassionate, gentle soul who touched many lives with his kindness and quiet strength. He was the beloved husband of Pola Askimar for 18 years.
Kayten is survived by: his parents, Stuart Ivener and Blossom Osofsky; mother-in-law, Sylvia Coronado; siblings, Korin Forbes (Ray) and Brian Ivener; niece, Emily Goldfarb (Todd); nephew, Jacob Forbes; and a large extended family.
Kayten began his career as an X-ray and lab technician after graduating from the Bryman School. His love for cooking led him to Le Cordon Bleu in Scottsdale, and he went on to work as a sous chef at T Cook Restaurant (2005–2021) and later at Morenci Restaurant, where he continued to share his passion for food and hospitality.
Kayten was known for his warmth, wit, and loyalty. He found joy in the outdoors, cooking shows, movies, video games, and bird watching-always appreciating life's simple pleasures.
Memorial services for Kayten will be conducted Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Kayten, please visit our Tree Store.
