Keith S. Baker, Sr. passed away December 31, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents George and Kathleen (Wood) Baker, sister Phyllis Jansak, and his second wife Gloria Baker. Keith is survived by his son Keith S. Baker, Jr.; grandchildren Scott (Janice) Baker, Kristen (Brian) Corrigan, Kaitlin Baker; great-grandchildren Rachel and Samantha Baker; niece Kacy Jansak, and many relatives and close friends.
A patriot of his country, Keith was a member of the Army and Merchant Marines before attending SUNY Morrisville where he studied mechanics. He went on to work as a machinist at Sealright for 30 years.
A lifelong resident of Fulton, Keith enjoyed going to the Fulton YMCA, spending time at Mimi's as part of Mimi's Counter Bums, watching SU sports and the Buffalo Bills, and going to the American Legion in Hannibal. He was an avid member of the local canoe club where he met lifelong friends that were like family. Unwilling to allow age to hold him back, Keith went skydiving, first when he was 80, and the last time in celebration of his 100th birthday.
Keith lived a life full of adventure and exploration. He loved people and had friends all over the world.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Keith's honor on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM ET at the First United Church of Fulton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Church of Fulton:

I truly enjoyed Keith! We would play music with him at the Marcellus jam. what a very interesting and nice man!

I met Keith at the Bluegrass Jam in Marcellus many years ago. We had many enjoyable conversations, including ones about the St. Lawrence and our mutual love of the river. I was so pleased that he was able to fulfill so many goals in his life. He was an accomplished harmonica player and in the "old days" of the jam and used to drive Cora and another friend from Fulton to Marcellus every Friday. When he could no longer drive, he was missed, but a friend brought him to a birthday celebration in his later years where we all were delighted to visit with him.

Keith was my stepfather. He married my mom in 1973 and opened his home to her and 3 boys. Before she married Keith, Mom raised 7 kids by herself and never did anything for herself. Keith changed all of that. He taught her how to drive a car and travelled with her around the state and beyond, including a couple of trips to Boston to see her beloved Red Sox play. I will always be thankful to Keith for giving her a much better life than she had ever known. I look forward to being there for the celebration of life memorial.
