Keith Bakker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Girdner Funeral Chapel - Yreka on Mar. 5, 2026.
Keith Anthony Lemos(Bakker), 63, passed away peacefully at 8:45 a.m. on February 21, 2026, surrounded by the love that defined his life.

Keith was born on May 30, 1962 to Sharon Evette Bakker and Gary Neal Bakker in Fresno, California. After a few years, life changed around us all, and this meant John Robert Lemos married Keith's mom, Sharon, and Keith gained a dad who would help him grow into a man whose spirit was as strong as his heart was generous. From 1979 to 1984, Keith proudly served in the United States Navy, carrying with him a sense of duty, resilience, and camaraderie that stayed with him throughout his life.

Keith cherished his family and began one of his own when he met Eva Bijou, who stole his heart. Together they had a beautiful son, John Anthony Lemos. Keith was someone who truly embraced living. Hard work filled his time, from truck driving to construction, he led his days showing excellent skills in all his endeavors. He had an infectious sense of humor, a love for adventure, and an ability to find joy even in life's simplest moments. His laughter filled rooms, and his presence made gatherings brighter. His journey was not without challenges, after becoming 100% disabled, Keith bravely overcame struggles with drugs and alcohol. With the help of the Veterans Administration, he chose a path of strength, accountability, and transformation. In doing so, he became the devoted family man he was always meant to be-a testament to perseverance and the power of love.

Keith is survived by his mother Sharon Lemos, his son John Lemos, his sister Brenda Lemos-Cashman, his aunt Beverly Guy, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Keith's greatest accomplishment was not measured in titles or accolades, but in the love he gave and the legacy of loyalty, and laughter he leaves behind. He will be remembered for his courage, humor, and unwavering love for those closest to him. His life reminds us that it is never too late to change, to grow, and to become the person you aspire to be, and Keith's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

On Friday, March 6, 2026, Girdner Funeral Chapel from Yreka will lay Keith to rest at a private ceremony within Fort Jones Cemetery in Fort Jones, California. Siskiyou County Veterans Services have arranged for a military tribute.
