Keith Barros, age 59, of Alexandria, died Thursday, July 30, 2015. A funeral service will be held 5:30 PM Friday, August 14, 2015 Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:30 PM Friday, August 14 at the Anderson Funeral Home. OBITUARY Keith G. Barros was born November 7, 1955 in Alexandria, MN, the son of Douglas and LaRae (Bratton) Barros. After kindergarten, Keith and his family moved to Coon Rapids, MN where he attended school. Following his graduation from high school Keith began work as a welder. On June 11, 1976 Keith was united in marriage to Helen Strohmayer in Circle Pines, MN. The couple was blessed with four children and made their home in Princeton, MN for the next twenty years. Keith also worked as a finish carpenter. In 2001 Keith and Helen moved to Alexandria to be closer to home. Keith worked at other welding businesses as a welder and machinist and later worked as a groundskeeper at Lake Carlos Villas near Alexandria. He also operated a small business repairing and supplying parts for radio controlled cars and aircraft. Keith enjoyed spending time outdoors. He enjoyed mowing the lawn and making things look nice. He liked going for a ride on his Harley or going mudding on a four-wheeler. He also liked to hunt, bow hunt, fish in summer and winter and go camping. Cooking was one of Keith’s favorite things to do. Keith was blessed with the beard and build to play Santa Claus. He loved being with children and entertained many children throughout the years as Santa. Most important to Keith was his family, Helen, his children and his grandchildren. On Thursday, July 30, 2015 Keith died at the age of fifty-nine years. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeremiah Barros; one brother, Rick Barros; and one nephew, Michael Kulkay. Keith is survived by his wife, Helen Barros of Alexandria; sons, Christopher Barros of Ohio and Jessie Barros and fianc�e, Amy Blair, of Princeton; daughter, Melissa Barros of Alexandria; grandchildren, Isabella Barros, Brittni Barros, Madison Barros, Mason Difley and Remington Barros; sisters, Debbie Kulkay and husband, Dan, of Scottsdale, AZ and Tammy Olson and husband, David, of Coon Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 5:30 PM Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Reverend Patricia Baglien will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home.
