Mallise was a dear friend. We met at Truett-McConnel Jr. College in Cleveland, GA, We were room-mates one year, and sang together in the TMC Trio. I told my daughter that Dora Cornet, our alto, went to be with the Lord first. now Mallise our Tenor has gone. And I hope they will save my position in the Trio until I get there!
Mallise was instrumental in bringing my husband, Jim, and me together. I was in her wedding and she was in mine.
Though we were not in close touch after she moved to FL, we still had that heart connection. We did stop to see her in FL once when on a trip there, I especially remember she came to my 80th Birthday celebration. I was so thrilled to see her and catch up. We talked off and on through the years and visited when we could. I was blessed last year when my daughter, Jennifer, took me to visit Mallise in Dacula at Joann's. We sat and held each other's hand while we all visited and talked, Though her speech was hindered because of her stroke, we communicated and reminisced about our past experiences. We just loved on each other. I know I felt it as I held her hand and she smiled.
That saying about friends who don't get to see one another often, yet when we are together it's like we saw each other just yesterday is so true. The love of a true friend weathers separation.
I'm so thankful I had the privilege of knowing Mallise and being her friend through the years. She blessed me in so many ways. She was loving and kind. She was talented, fun, wise in her advice, a wonderful person, friend, wife, and mother. She and Lem raised three beautiful, talented daughters. She loved the Lord and her life showed it. She served Him with her talents.
I know you, her sweet family. already miss her. But "We sorrow not as those who have no hope." We KNOW we will be reunited with her in heaven. She is already singlng God's praises there and we will join her in God's timing.
