Keith Henry John Schurke

Keith Henry John Schurke, 71, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on December 29, 2023.
Services will be at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Family Life Church with Robbie Ashlock officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Keith was born in Denison, Iowa on July 26, 1952, to Alven and Emily Schurke. Keith grew up on the family farm in Deloit, Iowa. He had worked for REC, IBP, and was a truck driver for the Terk Distributing – Republic Beverage until he retired in 2014. He married Joan King in 1973 in Denison, Iowa. They had met at the Skateland Roller Rink where he was a roller skate monitor. He was a fan of football and cheered on the Iowa Hawkeyes and KC Chiefs. He loved to fish, play bingo, and pinochle with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. All the kids knew him as Papa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Byron Schurke; his nephew, Karry Schurke; and his brother, Allen Schurke.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jennifer Noonan of Amarillo, Texas, Christine Keys and husband Earl of Amarillo, Texas, and Stephanie Barron and husband Chris of Tomball, Texas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen Schurke and her friend Bill Renz of Deloit, Iowa; four brothers, Kenneth Schurke and his wife Cathy of Kiron, Iowa, Rick Schurke and his wife Kay of Denison, Iowa, Jerry Schurke and his wife Sherri of Denison, Iowa, and Mark Schurke and his wife Diane of Vail, Iowa; his sister-in-law, Karen Schurke; and many other relatives and friends.
Joan Schurke and family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
