Hronek family, my most heartfelt condolences to you all, in particular to Maxine, Zoe and Sean. I was shocked and saddened by the news of his passing. I worked with Keith for many years at UIC/EHSO department. He was always nice to chat with while I addressed any issues or upgrades to his computer. Definitely passionate about Green Bay Packers, Football squares was always fun, he introduced me and my husband to the "Loser picks" pool for basketball. He always seamed to enjoy his work and his profession. I wish you peace and comfort as your grief.

Maxine,
My condolences. Keith was a great man. I met Keith when I started as a student employee at the EHSO at UIC. He would open the door for us at our facility when we were locked out. He would joke with us about being locked out, but I realized what a kind man he was. Once I became a full time employee, Keith became one of my leaders and tutors. We then became friends via fantasy football, football squares, so basically gambling. Thanks to Keith, I became a better safety professional, a gambling connoisseur, a craft beer enthusiast. Cheers to Keith.
Love,
Jose

To The Hronek Family,
I met Keith when I started at UIC in the early 2000s, as he was my first ERT mentors. He was a leader and a great teacher, and I learned a lot about safety from him. He introduced me to gambling, we talked and exchanged craft beers, occasionally went to Drum and Monkey, and was easily one of the kindest coworkers I´ve ever had.
I´m sorry I never had a chance to meet any of you, but Keith often shared stories about you all, and was immensely proud of his family. The safety field will be a little worse off without a man like Keith in it.

The University of Illinois at Chicago Environmental, Health, and Safety Office (EHSO) where Keith worked for many years was shocked and extremely saddened to learn of Keith´s passing. Keith was a great safety professional. He was very knowledgeable and hard-working. We also remember Keith as a great person. He was friendly and kind to everyone in the office and was always willing to help. He passed away far too soon. Our condolences go out to his family-this is an immense loss. We will keep you in our prayers.

I too am a football fan, so I always enjoyed that time of season when Keith, I and others were playing in the football pool. We all had so much fun talking trash. He was truly a good person. My pray to this family is that you find comfort in one another and cherish the memories.
