Born: March 21, 1930 in Lucas County, IA
Died: September 1, 2025 in Plano, IL
Keith D. Johnson, age 95, of Plano, IL, passed away on September 1, 2025 at his home in Plano, IL. He was born on March 21, 1930 in rural Lucas County, Iowa the son of Richard and Bertha (Schuman) Johnson.
Keith was united in marriage to Betty Louise Rawlins on December 23, 1950 and they spent the next 43 years happily together until her passing on November 15, 1994. He proudly served as a former member of the Iowa National Guard. He enjoyed farming in Iowa until 1967 prior to his employment for many years by Caterpillar Manufacturing as an assembler. Mr. Johnson was a longtime member of Plano Methodist Church in Plano, IL. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Keith is survived by his two daughters, Teresia Johnson of North Aurora, IL, and Gaylene (William) Baker of Michigan City, IN; his grandchildren, Viatra (Max) Ziman of West Aurora, IL and Delanna (David) Schwartz of Chicago, IL; his great-grandchildren, Morgan and Milo Ziman; as well as his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bertha Johnson; his wife, Betty Johnson; his brother, Ralph (Dorothy) Johnson; his sister, Arlene (John) Rupp, and his infant sister, Sophie.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South Street, Plano, IL. Interment will follow in Little Rock Township Cemetery, Plano, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Funeral Home in Plano, IL.
The family would like to thank the Bill Keaton family, the Swenson family, the Lynnwood Drive neighbors, especially Carl and Julie Hix and Bob Clack for their friendship, love and support.
In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity in loving memory of Keith.
