Keith Krause Obituary

Keith Krause, 72, passed away on April 3, 2025, in Summerfield, Florida surrounded by his brother, niece, and nephew. Born on July 21, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Keith lived a life marked by curiosity, dedication, and a deep appreciation for both technology and adventure.

Keith built his career as a computer technician for the Pennsylvania State Police. His work reflected not only his technical expertise but also his commitment to public service. Known for his intelligence and sincerity, Keith approached every task with precision and care-qualities that earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

Outside of work, Keith was a man of many passions. He had a lifelong love for building computers and collecting electronics-a hobby that perfectly matched his inquisitive mind and hands-on nature. Whether assembling intricate systems or exploring the latest gadgets, he found joy in understanding how things worked. His adventurous spirit also led him to the open road; riding his motorcycle brought him freedom and exhilaration. Traveling was another of Keith's great pleasures-he embraced new places with enthusiasm and an open heart.

Keith's sense of humor and warmth made him beloved among those who knew him. He was deeply family-oriented and cherished time spent with loved ones. Though he faced the loss of several close family members over the years-including his wife Jean Krause; his parents, Dolores (Abel) Teamann and Edward Krause; and brothers Daniel Krause and Ronny Krause-he remained a steady presence for those around him.

He is survived by his brother Thomas G. Krause (Vique); nieces and nephews Thomas J. Krause, Shannon M. Denney (Justin), Nicole Krause, Matthew Krause, and Whitney Pothier (Craig); as well as great-nephews Maverick T. Denney and Louie B. Pothier. Keith also leaves behind fond memories shared with many uncles and aunts who predeceased him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date TBD, in his childhood town of Irwin, PA.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who remember his wit, kindness, and adventurous soul.

I remember Keith well. Before moving to Florida we would go to Radio Hamfests together. He always made me laugh asking ticket takers if he only looked with one eye could he get in for half price. once inside he would haggle price with everyone. Always a good time. I will miss him. KE3YC Bill

Keith was one of my oldest friends. We´ve known each other since age 4-5 having grown up together in the " Heights." I´ll forever remember how he used to entertain us on our "sleep out" nights. Forever the joker. Good-bye my dear friend. You always found a way to make me laugh, even when things looked bleakest. Here´s to all our hunting and fishing trips, all the baseball and football games, exploring our woods, riding bikes, playing with dinosaurs and army guys, and all the things little boys do growing up. We were lucky enough to grown up in a wonderful place and time. Thank You a great time in my life!! Love you, Puma!!

Keith and I traveled to many exciting and wonderous places, although he always wanted to take the road less traveled even though it said, do not enter. He was a handful at times. He did love adventures and was always ready for a new one. He was a part of our family and will always be missed and in our hearts. Rest in Peace, always JD

I am so sorry to see this news. We often ride motorcycles together. We recently rode on Saturday to show his newly acquired Road King and had lunch together after a scenic ride in the forest area of Ocala. We often talk about Ham radio projects. I have known him back in Pennsylvania in the 1980,s. Always a good laugh to be had, I miss him!
