Keith Edward Marshall, 65, Topeka, passed away September 25, 2025. He was born November 28, 1959 in Topeka, KS. The son of James E. and Virginia L. (Speck) Marshall. Keith attended Rochester Grade School, Logan Junior High and graduated from Seaman High School in 1977. He also attended Kaw Area Technical School and Pittsburg State University. Keith married Kerry Roberts on June 6, 1981 and divorced after 27 years of marriage. His employment included UPS, 7-Up Bottling Company and Topeka USD 501. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where he was currently employed as a custodian.
In Boy Scouts, he gained appreciation and love for the great outdoors while learning nature conservation, cooking and metal/woodworking skills. He was a member of The Order of the Arrow and earned the Eagle Scout Award while a member of Troop 50 in North Topeka.
He was involved in many sporting activities while growing up including riding motorcycles, water/snow skiing, ice skating, playing baseball and football. He qualified in pole vaulting for the Junior Olympics. Other outdoor hobbies included fishing, camping, rock collecting and rocketry. His favorite pastime was going to Perry Lake in Kansas throughout all seasons to enjoy camping, watching bald eagles or fishing at his favorite spots.
He also loved listening to a variety of genres of music and attended many concerts with well-known headline artists to smaller local music artists throughout the years. Rock music was his favorite entertainment, and he was knowledgeable of the various band’s history, songs and musicians.
He will be remembered for his fun-loving sense of humor and entertaining personality. He celebrated his favorite holidays with family and friends. Often his birthday fell on the same day as Thanksgiving, making it a truly special feast. He enjoyed the Fourth of July festivities and went all out lighting fireworks. With his family and friends, he had the opportunity to travel to many U.S. States, Europe and Mexico.
He is survived by brother, Marc Marshall (Janey) Oak Grove, MO; sisters Susan Newman (Frank) Derby, KS; and Laurie Heng (Joe) Wichita, KS; Ryan Marshall whom he raised with Kerry and had cherished memories together; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also, he is survived by his girlfriend, Janice. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, 210 N.W. Menninger Road, Topeka, KS followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025. A private family graveside service will be held at Round Mound Cemetery, Cummings, KS.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northeast Kansas Wildlife Rescue and Round Mound Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund in care of Parker-Price & Davidson.
