Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday February 27, 2026 at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Jones officiating the services. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time-of-service Friday at the funeral home.

Keith Matthews, beloved father, Pappy, brother, and friend, passed peacefully from this life, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in West Virginia before later making his home in Alabama. Keith carried the warmth, grit, and authenticity of his roots with him everywhere he went.

Keith dedicated many years to serving others as a pastor, guiding and comforting countless people with his steady faith and gentle spirit. He also spent a significant part of his life working alongside his family building homes - pouring his strength, skill, and heart into creating places where others could grow and thrive.

Outside of work, Keith was happiest under the open sky. He loved kayaking, hiking, biking, and camping, and he never missed an opportunity to soak in the peace of the great outdoors. But above everything else, the moments he treasured most were those spent with his family. Being a dad and Pappy was the role he cherished with all his heart.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Catherine Matthews, and a dear lifelong friend Kristen Zeigler. He leaves behind his children Heather Matthews, Jeremy Matthews (Katie), Olivia Foreman (Rachelle) and Roxy Matthews; his grandchildren Audrey Bowen, Haley Busic (Silas), Joshua Bowen, Dylan Devotie, Skylar Morris, Maddux Friend and Harper Foreman; his great-grandson Ezra Cagle; his siblings Julie Bryant (Steve), Doug Matthews (Kim), Cindy Beard (Tony), Tracy Colvin (Moe), Kevin Matthews (Victoria), and an abundance of nieces and nephews who loved him deeply. His legacy of kindness, strength, and quiet joy lives on in each of them.

Keith will be remembered for his steady presence, his devotion to God and family, humor, and the way he found beauty in simple moments. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
