Keith Michael Monk

Keith Michael Monk, age 42, passed away December 9, 2023. Keith is survived by his wife, Melissa Monk; two sons, Sabastiano and Nathaniel; mother, Barbara Monk; sisters, Jill (George), Colleen (Peter); and nieces Abigail and Alyssa; and nephew, Logan. He is preceded in death by his father, Walter "Chip" Monk Jr.; and nephew, Lexander.
Friends may greet the family on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Burdan Funeral Home, 12901 Wicker Ave, Cedar Lake, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec 18th, at 10 am DIRECTLY at St John the Evangelist Day Chapel, 11301 W 93rd Ave, St John, In. 46373. Interment will follow immediately at Holy Name Cemetery, 11000 W. 133rd Avenue, Cedar Lake, IN.
Keith was born in Olympia Fields Illinois July 12, 1981. He married Melissa December 8, 2012. Keith loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for playing pool and made lots of friends who shared the same passion for the game. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served proudly for six years as an avionics specialist as an E5 staff sergeant. Keith loved his job working for U.S. Steel as an electrician for the past four years. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
