Keith O. Robinson

Keith Robinson was born February 7, 1962, to Shirley Ponzo Robinson and the
late Charles Robinson in Wilmington, Delaware. He made his transition into
eternal joy on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Keith accepted the Lord as his personal Saviour at a very young age with spiritual
guidance from his grandmother, Margaret Ponzo. He was baptized at Friendship
Baptist Church.
Keith received his early education in the Public Schools of Wilmington, Delaware,
graduating from A. I. DuPont High School in June 1980. He enrolled in classes at
Wilber Force University and earned a degree from Paine College in Augusta,
Georgia. During his years at Paine, he pledged a brotherhood with the Omega Psi
Phi Fraternity Inc. After college, he remained in Georgia where he built a career
as a Transportation Engineer for the Greyhound Bus Company.
Keith was a passionate and avid chess player specializing in Speed Chess. He
traveled all over the country competing in chess tournaments earning the name
"All World." Also, he hosted an annual Chess Tournament under the same name
for over 15 years.
Keith was dedicated to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He would
often send his family bus tickets to visit him in Georgia. Keith loved to eat and
would often travel to Delaware just for a home cooked meal from his mom. She
would lay out a feast for him to include his favorite desserts, Carrot Cake and
Bean Pies. Keith was a great poet, performing bespoke poems at every family
function. He loved taking pictures! If he wasn't engaging in a game of chess, he
was busy capturing the moments with his camera. Some of his favorite things
include listening to music from Public Enemy and Whitney Houston, writing
poems, taking pictures and eating!
God blessed Keith with two beautiful daughters, Keisha and Iesha, whom he loved
dearly. He was a devoted and loving father to his children and a well-respected
father figure to his many nieces and nephews.
Keith was proceeded in death by his father Charles 'Pee Wee" Robinson Sr;
brothers Charles "Mickey" Robinson Jr. and Larry Robinson, sister, Leola
"Bonnie" Jackson; his maternal grandparents Thomas & Margaret Ponzo, and
paternal grandparents AJ & Hattie Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Geraldine Robinson, Mother Shirley Ponzo Robinson,
his children Keisha Barbary (Nate) and Aesha Robinson. Grandchildren Dymond, Dominick
and D'Maryae Barbary and great- granddaughter, Kaheeri. He leaves his devoted
sister and caretaker, Rev. Dr. Shirley "Cheryl" Robinson, 4 brothers Tony Ponzo,
Craig Robinson, Ernest Sutton, and Jerome Hicks. Best Friends Mack Benjamin,
Thomas "Pinky" Gordon, Aaron Stewart, Ann Coker, Lorretta Richardson, and
Laurie Green. One God son, Jiheir M Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews,
aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
