Keith Duane Utter passed away September 26, 2024, in Vancouver, WA. Keith was born January 24, 1942, in Castleford, ID to Pearl G and Lemuel M Utter. Keith was the youngest child of 6, 3 boys and 3 girls. Keith was raised on family dairy farm Southwest of Jerome, ID and attended Jerome Schools. Kieth was very active in local 4H, welding and woodworking. In 1963 Keith joined the USS Navy. Keith did his basic training in San Diego, CA then was attached to the USS Cochrane, missile destroyer, whose home port was Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Keith was honorably discharged in April 1966.

Upon Keith's discharge from the military, he attended College of Southern Idaho and Magic Valley Christian College in Albion, ID where he met his future wife, Louise Thompson. Louise and Keith were married in Vancouver, WA March 8, 1969, where they made their home. Two daughters were born to this union Angela and Margaret.

Keith is survived by wife Louise Utter Washougal, WA, 2 daughters Angela (Terry) Black Houston, TX and Margaret Utter Vancouver, WA, 2 grandchildren Wyatt and Charity, sister Emma "Rosie" Braun Gleaves and numerous nieces and nephews. Keith was proceeded in death by his mother and father, 2 brothers Roy and Ralph Utter and 2 sisters Jean Williamson and Dot Handy Lauritzen and two brothers-in-law Eldon Handy and Gordon Braun.

Keith's remains were laid to rest Friday October 4, 2024, in Vancouver Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors. The family rejoices with Keith as he has flown to freedom in Jesus.

Uncle Keith took me to my first drive in movie. When the USS Cochrane that he was assigned to was commissioned I was able to attend soooo proud of my Uncle Keith in his uniform. Love you Uncle Keith..... Carol Handy Pfeifer

my brother Keith is the littlest boy on the tail. I´m his sister Rosie. I have many good memories growing up with Keith on the farm. We had a good time riding old Megans with our cousins.
