Keith Andrew Vara

Keith Andrew Vara entered eternal rest on January 10, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on December 19, 1956, to Abel Vara and Eloise Rodriguez.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Lydia Vara; and his sister, Gretchen Vara.

Keith dedicated many years of service as a Foreman with the San Antonio Water System, where he was respected for his leadership, work ethic, and dedication to his community. He was a proud member of Cornerstone Church and a man of strong faith. Keith had a deep love for animals and found immense joy in his grandchildren, and cherished every moment spent with them. He also enjoyed cheering on his favorite team, The Washington Redskins.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Roxana Saenz (Danny), Abel A. Vara, and Savanna Kendrick (Eric); his siblings: Dennis Vara, Gerard Vara, Aaron Vara, and Yvonne Chacon; and his grandchildren: Danny K., Alicia L., Roxana R., Elaina, and Noah. He also leaves behind numerous cherished family members and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South.

A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South, where Keith will be laid to rest beside his beloved Lydia.
